Code for Real
Learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on an iPad.
Code for Real teaches kids to write real HTML, CSS, and JavaScript by snapping together drag-and-drop blocks, the same way Scratch does. Each block is real code, and the page updates as you build it. It works for kids who are starting out and for anyone who wants to see how web pages are made. It runs fully offline, with no account, no ads, and no internet.
What you build with it
Real code
You build with actual HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Tap See Code to view the page you made and copy it into any browser.
Works like Scratch
The blocks snap together the way they do in Scratch. Kids who have used Scratch already know how to start.
See your page as you build
The page updates every time you add a block, so you can see what each piece of code does.
A project to follow
The Learn track walks through one project step by step. You build a virtual pet game, starting with a plain page and ending with a game you can play.
Room to experiment
Play mode gives you a blank page or a template and lets you build whatever you want. Nothing is locked.
Works offline
No account, no ads, no internet. Nothing is collected, and everything you make stays on the device.
